About Maria
Maria, 15 years old, studies at a British boarding college. Her family requested that we clarify what steps to take: what subjects to take for A-levels, given that she has no favorite subjects nor a preference for the humanities or sciences. Maria believed that it was more important to study something with her parent's approval than something in which she might be interested.
What did we do?
We connected Maria with a career development specialist
In three sessions, the educational coach identified Maria's main strenghts which could serve her well in the future and we understood what types of activities Maria truly enjoyed. We discovered that she enjoys working with children, communication with others, and creativite works. We also learned that Maria would like to start her own business in the future.
We assessed Maria's academic performance with Maxima Tutors
With the help of a consultant, Maria chose the subjects that she was really interested in studying: psychology, economics, and business science. Then, she successfully passed the A-level exams in these subjects.
Maria's result
Maria is now 18 and a half years old and she is studying at a prestigious university in England in their International Management program. She is also interning at a communications agency. She is confidently moving towards her dream——to found her own company in the near future.
About Mark
Mark graduated from a prestigious college in England where he revieved an IB diploma. Then, he enterted one of the Russell group universities. However, this was a compromise on his part due to the grades he recieved during his IB studies. Despite being an academically strong student, intelligent, and well-read, Mark received a low score on his maths final exam. This mistake did not give him a chance to enter the Economics department as he had planned. Insted, he entered Politics and Sociology where he quickly became uninterested in his studies.
What did we do?
We worked with a mentor and career coach
We found Mark's strenghts and weaknesses. After some time, we discovered that Mark would be well-suited to Business studies. He realised that this would be a much more interesting and engaging course of study when compared to his current studies in Politics and Sociology.
Alternative study options in England
We found a private business school. The consultants quickly guided the student through the process of transferring his credits to this new school.
Mark's result
Mark is now successfully completing business school, where he conducts project activities and organizes work in a team. He was recently recognized by the school's director for excellent academic results. His new academic trajectory has renewed his passion for his studies and he is excelling in every area.
